In English this week, we have continued to read The Firework Maker’s daughter. We have been talking about Lila’s journey to find the Royal Sulphur and we have been thinking about some of the new characters in the story. We have also planned and written are own adventure stories, using The Firework Maker’s Daughter as a base for our ideas.
In Maths we have been learning our 6 and 9 times tables. We know how to use our hands to help with the 9 times table! We have also been learning how to multiply numbers. We have lots of work to do learning our tables this game can be played at home to help –

Homework task for this week – The children have a writing activity in their folders this week. They have to use some of the facts and any other information to write about why the river Nile is so important in Egypt. This work needs to be handed in by Tuesday 29th September. Homework diaries will be collected in every week (usually on a Tuesday), house points will be given to children who have read at least 4 times at home and have had their book signed by an adult.
