This week we have been thinking about the natural history of the seaside. We matched words and pictures, talked about the creatures in the sea and drew some of our own for a fact file.
We also learnt about seagulls, in particular Herring Gulls. We watched a video to learn how they hatch, develop and grow into fully grown birds. We made 3D models and learnt about the little red spot on their bill.
( Ask your child what happens when the baby bird pecks the red spot! )
In maths we have all been using plastic cubes and egg boxes to learn how to count accurately in tens and ones.
We have been learning to say, recognise, write and spell days of the week and are beginning to write the day of the week when writing our news.
