English
In English this week we have been learning about the settings of Roald Dahl stories. We drew pictures and described them with very interesting adjectives, similes and metaphors.
Music
In music this week we learnt to play our very first song on the recorder: hot cross buns, it was very interesting and fun to play.
Geography
We have been learning about land use and what words such as mountain and hill mean. A hill is a naturally occurring area of raised earth.
Maths
We have been learning about different types of sums for adding and subtracting, like frog, which is basically finding the difference between numbers using the number line.

Next week
Next week we have plenty of exciting activities to look forward to. On Tuesday, Class 5 are dressing up as characters from Roald Dahl books. On Wednesday, we are walking to Wallingford to survey human land use for Geography. If any parents would like to help, please let Mrs Barlow know.
On Friday we have our collective worship for harvest and Year 5 will be performing a harvest song. Furthermore, the fabulous author Giles Andreae will be visiting and talking to the whole school about his wonderful books. See you next week Year 5!
