We have had a busy week!
On Monday, James Carter came into school to inspire us with his poetry. He taught us and Year 3 about Kennings and we all had a go at writing poems about an animal. We learnt that we needed to be very cryptic with our kenning so as not to give away the animal that it was about.
On Wednesday, Olympic rower Alan Campbell came in to talk to us. We all really enjoyed listening to him telling us about how he became a rower and the Olympic Games that he has competed at.
Also this week, we have been continuing to read ‘The Firework Maker’s Daughter’ and we have been working on how we can start our sentences with fronted adverbials.
In Maths we have been learning about capacity and volume. We have been converting units of measure and solving word problems involving liquid.
Thank you to all parents who attended a parent-teacher meeting this week.

Well done to everyone who has continued to read regularly.
