Maths
In maths, we’ve been looking at division. We have been looking at long division (chunking) and short division. We have been also looking at word problems and being investigators by working out what the missing number could be.
English
In English we have used the book Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver to write a persuasive letter to Torak. He is in a tricky situation. Should he eat the wolf cub that he has found or should he not?
We have been trying to make sure we use the specific features of persuasive writing e.g. rule of three, pee structure, exaggeration, repetition and rhetorical questions. We have been self-editing our work and adding in persuasive features.
DT
In DT we are starting our project on Viking cam toys. We have been designing them, working out the sizes of each component part and planning it in our DT books. We have adapted and extended our original plan of making a Viking long ship to become a moving parts cam toy . We will be working with partners.

On Wednesday we had a visorot who was an Olympic Bronze medal winner for rowing in the single skulls!
Don’t forget that your homework’s due in date is on the top of your sheet and you should complete maths and English by then. If your child is struggling with anything feel free to come in and see Mr Morton.
As you can probably see children have some yellow books coming home, these are our spelling books. We can keep a record by writing down any words that we keep misspelling.
