Angles not ‘a n g e l s’!
Knowing 180° and 360° is crucial for unpicking angle problems.
A straight line made up from various angels will always total 180°. A collection of angles around a point will always total 360°. Any size or shaped triangle will always have a total of interior angels of 180°.
We have been looking at triangles and identifying the angles. Most of the triangle’s angles were not obvious; we needed to extend the line to find parallels, perpendiculars, opposite angle properties and using our knowledge facts to find the missing angles.

Throughout this week we have been using the zig-zag plan, new openers and the rhythm of 3 to plan out our piece of writing which will be significantly different to the last piece of work. We are writing a narrative description of the Tailor in the Hungry Forest fighting Jacob, our character has to report the account to Chanute a barman in an alehouse. “You’ll never guess what I just saw!”……..
Our writing needs to show effective use of speech, action and story development without too much use of any one of these categories. We should also be able to see that they layout of our writing would indicate a well-structured and constructed narrative.
Science
A professional nurse came to visit us and we all discussed human body changes and what to expect as when grow and mature.
History & Geography
We have been learning about volcanoes but this week we have been learning about an eruption from the volcano Vesuvius which covered the city of Pompeii in ash and pumas-stone. We watched a DVD that captured the eruption as if in slow motion.
