In English this week we have been creating our own estate agent style information sheets about Stig’s cave. We have been thinking carefully about our language choices so that we can persuade someone to buy the cave. We have been exaggerating the truth and emphasising all of the benefits that the location has. In reading, we have been continuing to explore the text through discussions about the characters and their actions.
In maths, we have been learning the formal, compact method for multiplication. We have been thinking carefully about the place value of the numbers and have been solving a range of problems. We have looked carefully at questions that have incorrect answers and we have been working out where and why the answers are wrong. Towards the end of the week we started learning about division and we have been using place value counters to sort 2 digit numbers into groups.
In computing, we continued to create simple maze games using Scratch. Now that we know how to do this we will be going on to create our own more challenging maze based games. In history, we have been learning about the different ruling systems that the Romans had and we have started to learn about the spread of the Roman Empire.
