We had a stimulating start to the day on Tuesday when the Science Dome came to school. Excitedly we crawled into the dome to watch, listen and take part in the light show. We learnt a host of fascinating facts about light and shadows and wrote about light in our science books. In class we did a circuit of activities that included looking at concave and convex mirrors, exploring transparent colours and learning about sources of light and reflections. Crawling into a big fabric den to use torches to make big and small shadows was exciting. We also used mirrors to see how many reflections of Lego men we could make. Some of us managed to make 14 reflections using only two mirrors!
In our English lessons we have been making cartoon comic-strips to illustrate our ‘Imagine you are Tiny’ stories. We were focusing on starting our sentences in different ways and using a range of conjunctions.
Homework.
Look out for the new information coming your way regarding homework.
As from this week EVERYONE will be expected to do homework EVERY week.
There will be a selection of activities to choose from that will vary in difficulty. I will be talking to the children to explain how it will work and to answer their questions.
