Week 2 (18/04/2016)

This week in English, we have continued our work on ‘Stig of the Dump’ by Clive King. We have used ICT to produce information texts to persuade someone to buy Stig’s cave. We had to think really carefully about how to make the cave sound better than it really is! Later in the week, we started to think about how we can re-write a section of the story from the point of view of one of the characters. We will be continuing with this next week.

In Maths, we have been learning about decimal numbers. Throughout the week we have ordered, compared and rounded 2-place decimal numbers.

In Computing, we have started to use Scratch in order to program our own maze games.

On Wednesday, we went into the Explorer Dome to learn more about our ‘sound’ science topic. We all really enjoyed going into the dome!

Please look out for our new style of homework which will be coming home this weekend. The children should all understand how it works and the sheet is also available here on the website. We are looking forward to seeing the work that the children produce.

Please remember to keep reading to earn house points!
