Week 2 (10/11/2014)

This week it has been an absolute pleasure to share the children’s stories that they wrote last week. I must congratulate all the children who made such a good job of rewriting their stories about Roger visiting Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe. The presentation of work was very good with some excellent examples of joined, neat handwriting. It was great to hear everyone read their story aloud in class which was entertaining, fun for the audience and good for promoting self-confidence. This week we have continued to focus on writing stories with a beginning, middle and an end.

In maths we have been using a 100 square to help add and subtract multiples of 10 to or from two and three digit numbers.

In art lessons the children have really enjoyed learning how to draw a range of different animals. I am sure lots of the children will use their new drawing skills this weekend to develop their expertise if the weather isn’t good!

On Tuesday we talked about the meaning of Armistice Day and how we commemorate it.

Homework task: Write about yourself and your greatest wishes for the future.

A homework folder will be sent home. Homework will be due on Wednesday 19th.
