Class Three had a fantastic day at Sulgrave Manor on Wednesday. All of the children got dressed up in traditional Tudor clothing (which took some time with all the layers). They then got involved in a play focused around Henry Tudor’s life and, of course, his six wives. Children got to act out the different characters in the play, guided by the very informative Tudor instructors (Meg and Amy). During the play the whole class also took part in some Tudor dancing which was extremely entertaining. We also had a go at writing some lettering ‘Tudor style’ with real quills.
After lunch Class Three were split into two groups and got to look around the blacksmith’s house and the Tudor manor house. It was shocking to see the difference between how the rich and poor lived. All the children had a fantastic day and asked some brilliant questions. Meg and Amy said it had been a pleasure to take such a well behaved and engaged class.
