Week 2 (07/11/2016)

This week in English, we have continued to learn about different types of multi clause sentences and we have experimented with coordinating and subordinating conjunctions. We also learnt about how bodies were mummified in Ancient Egypt, we wrote notes about the process which we then turned into a set of instructions.

This is the Mummy Maker game that we used!

In Maths, we started off the week looking at how numbers can be represented in different ways on number lines and on place value grids. We have been working really hard to try and prove or explain our mathematical understanding. We have solved problems such as –

Later in the week, we recapped what we know about negative numbers.

In Computing this week we learnt about E-safety when opening emails. We looked at a variety of emails that had been sent to a character and we discussed whether it was safe to reply, if the email should be deleted or if we needed to talk to someone about the content.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Class 4 had a great time working on our values mosaic. We have created a design based on the school value ‘faith’ and we are really looking forward to seeing all of the finished work.

Some excellent homework has come in this week. We love that the children are baking Egyptian bread and cakes at home, but please could we request that nuts are not included in any of the recipes.

Please continue to email any PowerPoint work to –
