This week we have been finding out all about the life of Florence Nightingale. We have learnt about her childhood, her early nursing career, her time during the Crimean war and her life after the war. We watched a video which told the story of her life and found out facts from the BBC schools website. We used this information to plan and write our own reports. We know that reports give us information and that our ideas need to be organised into clear sections with sub-headings.
In maths we have been finding out about symmetrical shapes. We have learnt that for a shape or picture to be symmetrical, 2 sides must be exactly the same. We have found the lines of symmetry in different 2D shapes and looked at different shapes and pictures to see whether they are symmetrical or asymmetrical.
Our new topic for the term is ‘Chembakolli – Village Life’. We will be finding out all about life in this Indian Village and comparing it with life in Crowmarsh. We will also be finding out about the habitats of different animals, both in England and in India. The new homework menu will be coming home next Friday. Please look out for it in book bags.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Marsh, Mrs Lucas & Mrs Scott
