Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back this term the children have asked to learn more about the way vehicles work including, diggers, trains, cars and motorbikes. We will learn more about transport. How transport has changed over time and how vehicles move.
This week the children have been sharing their holiday news and learning about what a sentence needs, they have been having a go at writing their own sentence.
In Maths, the children have been using numerals to twenty ordering them and counting on from any number. The children have all got flashcards 0-20 in their book bags this week. Please use these at home ordering them in order and in reverse order. You could try giving your child a random selection of ten numerals, can they order those? What is missing? You could challenge your child to find the correct number of objects to match a given number of objects.
In Phonics the children have been focusing on learning tricky words, recognising them in sentences and thinking about what letters are needed to write them. Please make sure that you are sharing the children’s books and other reading material at home so that the children can be practising daily their reading skills.
