Maths – Decimal Numbers
This was tricky because we had a mixture of fractions, decimal numbers and percentages to plot along a number line. We have been working outside and using the whiteboards and pens and coning off a number line. We have marked off ¼, 90%, 75%, 0.1, 1.2, 4/4, 4 & 1 on our football pitch.
Grammar – compounds
We can plot a compound subject and a compound object as well as adjectives and adverbs.
Spelling – ‘ed’ = past tense & ‘ful’
English
We are having a drive at focusing on presentation. We all shared ideas about what made a good looking piece of work. And we are re-writing the myth of Icarus and Daedalus. We took the original story and turned it back into a plan, then rewrote it with more description and details.
Topic – Ancient Greece
There are 6000 islands! We had to analyse what it would be like and write a postcard to somebody describing all about it. A pupil thinks that we will write another postcard about Ancient Greece instead of making it Greece now.
PE – orienteering
After our warm-up session of being a rat or rabbit, we had to use a map/diagram to recreate a face made of PE equipment. This was brilliant fun.

We have had 2 Wallingford students, Jimmy and Thomas, for work experience, helping us in class this week.

Lots of people are playing football and get really hot.
Our residential is in July and it might be quite hot.
