We have purple learners everywhere! Children have been showing amazing effort, perseverance and grit over the past week. They have faced new challenges that come with being in a brand new year group and class and they have done brilliantly!
This past week all the classes have elected their new representatives for our leadership positions in school. We will be publically announcing all our new leaders in collective worship tomorrow. They have done very well putting themselves forward for nomination, filling in an application form (in KS2) and standing up in front of their classmates to talk about why they would be a good representative for the role they applied for.
This year we are also introducing optional ties for all those pupils elected to leadership positions. Last year children across school talked about how ‘proud’ they felt wearing ties especially after the choir had worn them to the Headteacher’s Induction Service at Christchurch Cathedral last year. Therefore, we have decided to introduce them to help raise the profile of our leaders across school.
If you haven’t yet signed up to Twitter, make sure you do. We try to post pictures from across the school throughout the week so that parents can get a glimpse into the things children are getting up to in their classrooms. We now have 105 followers but we know that isn’t all of you!
Children had their first internet safety talk yesterday by Mrs Corrigan. She talked through the ICT Acceptable Use Policy and hopefully you will have received it already and will have a chance to talk through it with your child/ren. We take Internet Safety extremely seriously at our school and hope that you support us in teaching your children how to be safe online. If you haven’t already attended, please do come to our first Internet Safety session for parents on October 20th at 7:30 p.m in the school hall. Mr Matt Lovegrove, a Google Certified Teacher and ThinkUKnow trainer, will be delivering our sessions again this year. This is for parents across the school. Please be sure to put this in your diaries and join us.
