Week 5 (1/10/18)

This week in English this week we have been writing diary entries. We recapped what has happened to the girl in The Promise and we thought carefully about the features of a diary entry.  We all had feedback on our work and we worked hard to ensure that this piece of writing was better than the previous. In reading we have looked closely at how the city is changing and how this is represented through the pictures.

In maths we have been ordering and comparing numbers up to 1000. We have been using the inequality signs (< and >) in number sentences. Then we moved on to finding 10, 100 and 1000 more or less than a number with up to 4 digits.

On Monday in Computing, we continued to use Scratch to program an animated version of The Promise. Next week we will be sharing these with each other and peer evaluating our projects.

In geography we thought about the roads that we walked along last week. We then drew our own maps indicating Watery Lane, Old Reading Road and the By-pass. We then annotated our maps to show what the roads were like and then why they needed to change.

Please remember to read with your child as often as possible. I will continue to take in reading records on a Monday.
