Week 1 (4/6/18)

Welcome back! We hope you’ve had a lovely half term and the children enjoyed some rest after their busy SATs week – we were really impressed with how hard they all worked during their tests.

On Monday we had an exciting day of writing with another visit from Tim at Pobble.  He gave an assembly on Unlikely Superheroes then set us all off on a writing task.  In class 2 we spent time planning our characters and settings, before mapping out our story ideas and writing our stories.  Some of us have been published on Pobble!  Remember to keep check the Pobble.com website to see if your child’s work is there.

Later in the week we started our new topic, ‘Wild’.  We looked at the front cover of the book ‘Wild’ by Emily Hughes and discussed the character on the front, asking ourselves: who are they? What do they look like? Where do they live?  What is their personality like?  Then we wrote character descriptions.

In maths lessons we have been revising telling the time on the hour, half past, quarter past and quarter to.  We have also been partitioning numbers in different ways and continuing to practise adding two 2 digit numbers within 100.

During our ICT lessons this week and next, we are creating a film about our school.   We have been taking it in turns to film each other as we show and talk about everything which makes Crowmarsh great!

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Marsh, Mrs Lucas and Mrs Scott.
