Numeracy
We have been looking at area and perimeter. We know that to find the area of a quadrilateral we multiply the length by the width. But when you are trying to find the area of a compound shape, the shapes needs to be split into separate quadrilaterals, calculate the area of each, then add together the areas. This will give us the total area of the compound shape.
Spelling
We’re looking at the ‘ing’ on word endings. Why do we sometimes double the last letter? It depends on the vowel in the root word, if it stays ‘soft’ or not. Hop becomes hopping (doubling the p) and not hoping. The ‘i’ in ing causes the ‘o’ to become a split digraph and changes it’s sound to a ‘hard’ o not staying the soft ‘o’.
Literacy
Out of 4 questions based on the next chapter of Kensukes Kingdom we are having to find the proof/ evidence to answer each question. Then choose just one of these questions to write out a full answer using p.e.e with an introduction and conclusion.
Grammar
Coordinating conjunctions. These are where you join 2 elements of a sentence of equal vale together by using a fanboys.
