This week, we have continued to read our abridged version of The Secret Garden. We have continued to think about how the character of Mary is changing, how she is thinking of others and how she is able to help Colin. In English, we have been looking at features of play scripts and we have had a go at turning a section of The Secret Garden into a play script. At the end of the week we planned our own play scripts based on The Secret Garden. We will be writing our plays next week.
In maths, we have continued to work on decimals. We have been thinking about tenths on a place value grid and we have been positioning tenths on a number line. We then moved on to dividing numbers by 10 when one of the digits moves into the tenths column
e.g. 4 ÷ 10 = ? 54 ÷ 10 = ? 0.5 = ? ÷ 10
We have also continued with multiplying 3 single digit numbers together and we have started to learn about factor pairs.
In Computing, we have been learning how to search databases for information. We have also been creating our own class database that we will be able to extract information from.
Swimming – we are hoping to confirm the summer term arrangements for swimming lessons by the end of next week.
