Week 3 (15/09/2014)

This week in English we have been continuing with our work based on ‘The Pharaoh in the Attic’. We have written our own stories with a familiar setting and we made sure that we included a character who was superstitious. We have been trying to edit and improve our own work. Next week we will be starting a new poetry unit of work.  We will be reading and writing poems focussing on Kennings and Haikus.

In Maths, we have been comparing numbers using inequality signs and we have been positioning numbers on a number line. Next week, we will be revising times tables facts and we will be learning how to solve multiplication problems.

In Science we have been learning about the nutritional value of different food groups and we have planned a healthy meal. Next week, we will be looking more closely at the digestive system.

In History we have looked at pictures of the landscape in Egypt. We thought about things that would make life easy and what would be difficult. We know how important the River Nile was to the Ancient Egyptians.
