This week in English, we firstly finished off typing our newspaper reports. Then we moved on to some grammar work. We have been identifying nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in sentences as well as prepositions, determiners and adverbial phrases. We wrote descriptions of a scene from Ancient Egypt and then identified the different types of words in our own work.

In Maths, we have been working on rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000

E.g. Round 2342 to the nearest 10

Round 2923 to the nearest 1000

We have also been working on drawing number lines ensuring that we position numbers accurately, e.g. draw a 0-100 number line and mark on 35. Some of us have also been working on estimating where a number would go on a number line

Eg.

Approximately where would 6524 be on the number line?

Well done to the violin and cello players in Class 4, we all enjoyed hearing you perform in the concert.

We are all looking forward to our production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ next week. The entire play will be put together on Monday. Please remember that children need to wear all black for the day and the performances.

Well done to everyone who has continued to read daily and has sent in excellent homework. Please remember that although we love baking homework, can we ask that no nuts are used in recipes.
