Maths
We have been working around the topic of division and making our own BIDMAS equations. For us to be successful with our calculations we have to do each part separately. Then join the separate sections together. Our challenges were to not use a zero, or a digit twice or even numbers.
We have also been playing the min/max game. You roll a dice and you choose where to put the number in a 3-digit times a 2-digit multiplication calculation. But you must make the biggest number possible from the 3 numbers rolled and then the smallest number possible using the digits.
We can use a calculator but that only gives us the right answer, not how we worked it out and what we understood (which is more important).

Tim ate my wallet = active (the object is actively being done by the subject)
My wallet was eaten by Tim = passive (the subject is receiving the verb)

We are looking at persuasive strategies for our writing especially how to write a strong argument without being too biased but explaining our opinion effectively.
Spellings
We are working on endings that sound like ‘shus’ spelt –cious or -tious
ambition = ambitious
contention = contentious
space = spacious
grace = gracious
History and Geography
What weapons and technology were used during WWI?
We are researching all things that we wanted to know but haven’t had the time to cover in the class like the weapons they used, the groups of fighters, and something called ‘The Red Barron’.

Science
We have been considering what is going on outside our solar system through discussion and watching science clips.
Also Olivia brought in some real meteorites for us to touch and examine.
