This week in English, we have been working hard on newspaper reports. We started the week by using our planning to write a newspaper report about the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb. Later in the week we word processed our writing to make it look like a real newspaper.
In Maths, we have been revising rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. We used number lines and the rule of 5 to identify whether a number needed to be rounded up or down. We solved problems such as –

Sam thinks that the smallest whole number that rounds to 500 is 451. Is he right? Prove it! When rounded to the nearest 10, I round to 60. What could the number be? In computing this week, we continued to work on email. We learnt how to search for an email address on our school account and we sent an email to a friend!
In art, we painted our name in hieroglyphics on a cartouche. Our work will soon be on display in the classroom.
Well done to everyone who has continued to read daily and has sent in excellent homework. Please remember that although we love baking homework, can we ask that no nuts are used in recipes.
