This week in English, we have finished our work on The Firework Maker’s Daughter. We have written letters to the other firework maker’s persuading them to come and visit Lila’s shop. We thought carefully about the audience for our writing and we included all of the persuasive features that we have been learning about. After half term, we will be looking at a non-fiction book about Ancient Egypt which will link our English and History work.
In Maths, we have been continuing to work on ordering 4 digit numbers and we have been solving increasingly challenging problems. Here is one question that we have been working on –
‘I am thinking of a number. It is greater than 1500 but smaller than 2000. The digits all add up to 13. The difference between the largest and smallest digit is 5. What could the number be? Order them from smallest to largest’.
This week in History, we started to learn about what daily life would have been like for people living in Ancient Egypt. In Computing, we continued to work on our stories in Scratch, we will be evaluating each other’s work after half term.
A big well done to everyone who has put in excellent effort with their homework this term. We have had many fantastic models and some wonderful PowerPoint presentations. A new takeaway homework grid has been sent home today and is also available on the website.
