Maths
This week we have been looking at negative numbers in context and calculating intervals across zero. We’ve been doing different things on number lines and place value. We can also prove that “To multiply by 100 you should add two zeros” ….is false!!! (It is wrong because what if you had 273.574 x 100?)This is correct because the answer is 27357.4, which doesn’t feature any 0s.
Grammar and English
We are looking at adding prepositions into our sentence diagramming.

We are continuing to read further on in The Daughter of the Sea. The story is really exciting and descriptive – Berlie Doherty doesn’t waste a word or waffle on.
We were editing a piece of really bad writing that was personal and repeated and didn’t use P.E.E, that’s point, evidence, and explain.
‘There was really good description: me and my friend found really good words so I’m going to talk about that too’ = this is an example of using really bad vocabulary and can be up-levelled to a higher standard. We also did a self-assessment and self-evaluation. In our assessment we had to say the difference between the two drafts. We are also looking out for modal language.
Science:
In science we are looking at what the lungs do and how they do it.

Homework
This is really fun: we are getting lots of lovely cakes like trenches that we can eat at the end of the day. People are bringing in trench models and working models of the heart.
I.C.T
During I.C.T we have been looking at two separate parts: Kodu Game Lab, which is basically computer programming. Taking things a little further than Scratch does. As well as, anti-cyber-bullying plays. Which include: art, produced in a stop-frame animation way, plays, and narrations.
P.E
Basketball is the sport we did on Wednesday, as a one-off, by a 6’ 7 giant coach.
As well as baseball we have been doing hockey skills and some of the girls have competed in the 5-a-side football tournament at Wallingford School.
