Week 4 (26/09/2016)

This week we have been writing stories about Paddington Bear. We listened to the beginning of the story ‘Paddington goes shopping’, and then used storyboards to plan our own story ending. We thought of lots of adventurous things that Paddington may have got up to!

In maths we have been looking at number sequences. We have particularly focussed on counting on and back in steps of 2, 3, 5 and 10. We have used cubes, diennes, bead strings and hundred squares to count on and back. Can you create some sequences for us to finish them off? E.g. 15, 18, 21, ___, ____

In science we have continued to look at different materials and their properties. We watched a video of materials in action, focussing on why certain materials are used for certain products. We then worked in our groups to look at one particular material. We thought of lots of different things that were made from that material and then considered why it was a good material choice for those objects.

In Gymnastics we have been using the apparatus really carefully and sensibly. We can balance, turn and travel in interesting ways. We have also started to look at how we can travel high and low and the different body shapes we can make.

We were lucky enough to have ‘Prayer Space’ in school this week. Ask us about the activities we did, they were very peaceful and relaxing.

Have a lovely weekend!
