Dear Parents/Carers,
This week we have been preparing for our Vintage tea party we had on Friday. We wrote an invitation together to remind everybody about the party and displayed it on our window. The children then designed hats to wear on the day and used their knowledge of letters and sounds to write materials they wished to use to decorate. The children made their hats which included feathers, sequins, jewels, glitter and many elaborate shapes.
On Thursday we had a French day; the children all listened to the story of the Hungry caterpillar in friend and were supported by year six to do some activities. In the afternoon the children made French flags, played bingo with French numbers and tried French foods, including camembert and pᾰtẻ and all were able to speak a French sentence to say which food they enjoyed the most ‘J’adore… “ .
On Friday school had a vintage tea party; it was great to see so many people joining in to celebrate Her Majesty the Queens ninetieth birthday.
Have a fantastic weekend,
Miss Zimmerman and Mrs Bowden.
