This week we have been creating our own version of ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. In our version we went on a dragon hunt. We thought of all the obstacles we might meet if we went searching for a dragon in a castle. We then thought about which sounds we would need for each obstacle. Then we rehearsed our verses ready to perform.
In maths we have been learning about fractions. We have investigated how to make halves and quarters of squares. We found out that the two halves, or four quarters, don’t have to be the same shape but they have to be the same size.
On Wednesday we had our fantastic trip to Oxford Castle. We learnt all about how life would have been in the castle 1000 years ago. We discovered it would have been dark, cold and smelly! We did lots of climbing too. First we climbed the mound and had a look at the well that would have been used by people living in the castle. Then we climbed St. George’s tower, which had 101 steps!
In P.E we were inside because of all the rain. We learnt a good technique for jumping and practised standing jumps. We then found out who could jump the furthest. We also played a game of bench ball.
