This week we received a letter from Womby the alien. We found out that he is friends with Sparkeep, the alien who visited us last year. We had fun ‘freeze framing’ different parts of his letter. Later in the week we wrote letters to Womby, asking him lots of different questions. We also had a go at describing an alien and comparing and contrasting 2 different imaginary planets.
In maths we have been adding 10 using a number line. We know that if we add 10 then the tens digit changes whilst the ones digit stays the same. We can add 10 to any 2-digit number by jumping on a whole group of ten, rather than adding on ten ones.
In PE this week we have been practising our running skills. We played lots of chasing games where we had to respond to a whistle by changing direction/position. We had to have quick reaction times!
In Geography we looked at maps and map symbols. Ask us to tell you about some of the different symbols that are used. We also found our school on Google Earth.
TASK: Choose a task from the take away homework menu. Your child has a copy of this in the front of their new homework book. There is also a copy on the Class 1 Blog. Thank you for all the wonderful homework that has come in so far. It has been lovely for the children to share it with the class.
