It was great to meet up with so many of you this week and discuss your child’s progress. Thank you for your time and interest.
This week we have been exploring our senses. We know that humans have 5 senses that are used to explore the world around us. We wrote our own acrostic poems about the senses. We then created poems, describing the different sights, sounds, tastes that we like to experience.
Later in the week we did a senses ‘carousel’. We worked in groups to carry out different activities. We ate different fruit and described how it tasted, smelt a range of smells in pots and tried to guess what they were, investigated what happened when we moved away from a sound source, looked closely at objects and tried to draw them, and felt things in ‘feely bags’ and described them. Ask us to tell you all about it.
In maths this week we have been looking at time. We have learnt that there are 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute. We have been practising making different o’clock and half past times on clocks. Some of us have also had a try at making, and reading, quarter past and quarter to times on clocks. Who can practise telling the time at home?
