Week 2 (29/02/2016)

This week we have been reading and writing poems about dinosaurs. We looked at some of the features poets use and why they are effective.  Ask us about our absolutely amazing alliteration, or about the words we needed to use to create a simile.  Having read a rhyming poem about a stegosaurus called Stan, we then experimented with rhyming couplets and wrote our own funny poems about a diplodocus called Dan!  Later in the week we created extra verses for performance poems then added actions or sound effects and performed them to the rest of the class.

In maths this week we did a maths test – but we decided that tests are fun because they let us challenge ourselves!! We also revised our number bonds to 10 and used these to help us find number bonds to 20.

In our art lesson we watched a video that taught us how to draw a cartoon dinosaur and then we had a go at drawing one ourselves. Ask us to show you how we did it or, if you want to practise, then the clip can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-9sADY_4YU
