English
In English we have been concentrating on Macbeth ( a story/ play by William Shakespeare.) We started off by reading act 1: The witches’ arrival. We thought, is this a strong start to a play?
Then we moved onto the next part: Macbeth’s decision. We wrote a piece on how he would be acting and what he would be feeling when he got the news that his wife (Lady Macbeth) was planning to kill the king. This was most of our favourite pieces of work in year 6: we wanted to see if we could change our writing style to fit our task and our targets. We just got a new scene and we are excited to learn more about it. It has left us with many predictions.
Maths
At the end of last week we were doing test to see where we were in our maths. When we got the results back we were split off in to groups doing various other tasks. One group went off to do more challenging problems. Another group went through the test and looked at their mistakes and decided if it was a goofy mistake or was it a valuable mistake. We are currently still split of into more groups doing more tests.
Science
In science we are all focusing on space and planets. From the beginning we were all very excited to study a subject we hadn’t really gone near in very much detail. We still are. We started by writing some questions that we wanted to be answered. Such as:
- Which gas cloud bought helium and hydrogen into our galaxy?
- If the moon has the same materials as earth why isn’t there signs of life on that planet?
We then drew a detailed diagram of all the planets up to the ‘KUIPER BELT’ and extra things like, the asteroid belt, comets and much more .
