I was impressed with those who made the effort to do the homework last week which was to write instructions for making a sandwich. There were lots of good examples with pictures and some very neat joined writing. Well done.
This week we have had a grammar / sentence focus in our lessons. We have been learning how to use conjunctions in our sentences to make them longer and more interesting. We will continue this work next week as we begin to write diary entries.
If your child has any books written in the style of a diary they could bring them into school next week to share in class.
In our maths lessons we have been working with money and learning to give change using as few coins as possible. If you have the opportunity, let your child spend a small amount of money and work out how much change they should get. Perhaps make a shop at home and practise giving change using the smaller coins first when counting it out.
In science we have been thinking about how materials can change. We used bread to make observations before and after toasting it. Next week we will be making cheese on toast and learning to describe the changes using scientific language.

Write ten sentences with a conjunction in the middle of each sentence.
