This week in English we have continued to write instructions. Everyone is getting to grips with the different types of instruction text and can recognise the main features. We have been reading a book called Beware of Boys, it has lots of crazy recipes in it to make Boy Soup, Boy Pie, Boy Pudding etc for the wolf to eat.
To inspire our writing some of us brought in typical boy / girl items to look at and describe. We have been writing our own recipes for Girl Pie, Soup and Pudding. In our recipes we have focused on using good adjectives to describe the ingredients and imperative verbs when writing the method.
In maths we have been working on number bonds to 100 and working on solving problems. We have learnt that when solving problems we have to read the question very carefully and read it more than once!
In our history topic we have been thinking about Tudor houses and how they were built. We watched a video showing a journey through a 17th century street. We learnt about how the houses were built, what they were made of and how to draw one.
We are going to make Tudor houses so we need lots and lots of cereal boxes, as many as possible please.
Homework Task: Write instructions for making a sandwich.
