This week we have continued to work on place value in maths, adding 10 or 1 to 2 digit numbers. Mostly we have used equipment to help us do this, but some of us are able to do it in our heads by using our understanding of tens and ones. Ask us to continue practising at home.
In our topic lessons this week we have been learning about Christmas traditions in other countries. We found out that in countries like Kenya and Australia it is hot at Christmas so they often have barbeques for Christmas dinner! Ask us what else we found out.
On Thursday morning we discovered something very exciting in our playground area – a sparkly sack full of presents had landed on the roof of the outside classroom! We were very surprised and spent the morning trying to work out what had happened. Later, we acted out stories, drew pictures on a storyboard and had a go at writing a story about the mystery sack.
TASK: Who can write about their favourite Christmas traditions and what Christmas means to them?
