English: This week we have been …
Focusing on a poem called the Sound Collector by Roger Mc Gough .
We have been getting into groups of four or less and acting out the poem and showing it to other groups in the class. One group performed while the others had a sheet of paper (with the success criteria on) and spotted the things they did well and the things to improve on next time. After finding out which bits needed to be improved the groups had another go at perfecting their performance.
Maths: This week we have been …
Working with coins to find the answers to add, subtract and even multiply and divide.
Towards the end of the week we learnt how to measure accurately with a ruler. We were shown how to draw lines and objects a certain length as well as measure objects. We focused on measuring to the nearest cm but some of us were very precise and even learnt how to draw and measure objects to the nearest mm.
We have been singing out hearts out this week in our Christmas play rehearsals. It is all starting to come together nicely. If you have costumes already please bring them into school so we can check they are suitable. We are all looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our Christmas play on the 7th and 8th December.
