Week 3 (16/11/2015)

English

In English we have been learning about debates and persuasive language. We learned how to write our statement of position and how to write a complete argument. As an example we watched a Guardian newspaper advert which had a twist to the three little pigs. The question we thought about was “Is it ever justifiable to kill an intruder? You could choose to either back up the pigs or the wolf.

Maths

In Maths we have been learning how to draw and how to measure angels. We have used protractors and rulers to measure and copy shapes. There were lots of shapes to copy in the textbooks. A lot of us have got a lot better at using protractors and measuring angels and naming them obtuse, reflex or acute.

Four of our boys went to the Oratory school to compete against other schools in a mega maths challenge. Here are some photos of them in action.
