In English we have started to look at persuasive writing. We have been thinking about Lila (from The Firework Maker’s Daughter) who needed a poster persuading people to come to her new firework shop. We explored different names for the fireworks using alliteration and/or repetition, and then we thought about what else needed to go on the advert. Finally we put all of our ideas together to create exciting posters!
In Maths we have been recapping using number lines to find the difference between 2 number, grid multiplication, fractions and word problems. Please continue to practise times tables at home.

In Art, we have started to sew our initials in hieroglyphics onto binca. Some of us had to work really hard on our sewing skills (including Mr Sharman!) We will be continuing to work on this next week.
Homework task for this week – The children have a Maths task. This work needs to be handed in by Tuesday 20th October.
Homework diaries will be collected in every week (usually on a Tuesday), house points will be given to children who have read at least 4 times at home and have had their book signed by an adult.
