Week 3 (14/09/2015)

This week the children have been sharing their thoughts and ideas about learning. We have talked about what learning is, and decided that we are learning all the time! In Numeracy we have been counting objects and learning that we need to touch each object as we count saying one name for each object.  The children have all painted a portrait of themselves after looking carefully in the mirror at colours and shapes. They have all thought about how to hold their paint brushes for the best control of the brush. The children’s portraits are now on display and speech bubbles enable the children to share their individual learning targets with others. The children are becoming familiar with daily routines and have been exploring the classroom during Independent Learning Time.

Next week we will read the story ‘Owl Babies’ we will talk about who is in our family and in Literacy learn about labelling. In Numeracy we will begin to separate a group of objects in different ways. The children will begin to learn their letters and sounds next week starting with the sounds s,a,t,p.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Zimmerman, Mrs Bowden and Mrs Conway.
