Week 3 (06/03/2015)

This week we started our ‘Ourselves’ topic.  We talked about our bodies, named and located bones and found out what our skeleton is for.  We also learned about the five senses (ask us to tell you what they are) and took part in a carousel of activities where we used each of the 5 senses – to identify smells, taste foods, compare sounds, draw from observation and describe what we could feel in a bag.

In Maths we have been learning to tell the time at o’clock and half past. We’ve also been thinking about what time of day we do things such as eat breakfast, have playtime, eat dinner, go to bed. Please continue to practise telling the time on digital and analogue clocks at home.

In ICT, we entered data about our favourite foods or how we travel to school and created pie charts to show the results.

We were lucky to have another visiting author (Tom Farrell) in school on Wednesday.  He told us about his book ‘Tim Oliver Evacuee’ which is all about his experiences as an evacuee during World War II.  Ask us what we found out.

TASK:  Who can create a factfile about their favourite animal? Use the attached format or create one of your own if you prefer. Remember to present your work neatly.
