Week 4 (26/01/2015)

This week we have been continuing our work on fairy tale characters. We described the 3 pigs and the Big Bad Wolf using the most interesting words we could think of, then we created WANTED posters about the wolf (to warn people how dangerous he is!) You might have seen some of these up in the windows of our classroom.  Later in the week we pretended to be the wolf and wrote letters of apology to the 3 little pigs!

In maths, we have been adding a small number to a larger number (e.g. 34 +3) and using different methods such as counting on in our heads, hopping along on a number line or using a 100 square.

In Science, we discussed the three materials that the 3 little pigs chose to build their houses with and what their properties are, then we had to decide how we could test each material to see how strong it was.  Finally, we decided on which materials we could use to build our own strong model houses for the pigs.

In our ICT lesson, we wrote clues to describe the character that we created last week. For example: I have long blonde hair, I spent a long time in a tower and I don’t like witches – who am I?

TASK:  Who can give clues for someone else at home to guess which character you are?
