Week 3 (19/01/2015)

This week we have been thinking about fairy tale settings and characters.  We realised that there are several settings which are quite common in fairy tales and that the characters tend to be similar too.  In our setting descriptions we used adjectives and different sentence openers to make the writing more interesting.  When thinking about characters we compared and contrasted the good and bad characters and then described them.

In maths we have been revising our number bonds to 10 and finding the missing number in related addition and subtraction sentences (e.g. 10 – ? = 3,  4 + ? =10). Please keep practising these at home – the children should be able to recall the number bonds quickly. We have also been doubling numbers up to 6.

In ICT we have been designing fairy tale characters using Tux paint. We used different shapes, paintbrushes and colours.  In Art we made our own magical fairy tale wands using all sorts of sparkly bits!!

TASK:  Who can play this game to get speedier at their number bonds to 10?
