In Maths this week, we have been focusing on place value, working out how many tens and ones there are in different 2 digit numbers. Show us some 2 digit numbers and see if we can explain it to you!
We read the Nativity story and wrote about how Mary must have been feeling on her long journey to Bethlehem with Joseph. We have also been finding out about different Christmas traditions around the world. Did you know that in Germany children leave their Christmas list on the windowsill for Santa to read? Or that in France, shoes are left by the fireplace for Pére Nöel to fill with sweets? Ask us what other traditions we learned about, and which countries.
In Literacy, we learned that acrostic poems spell out a word with the initial letter of each line. We read some then had a go at writing our own Christmas versions.
It was great to see so many parents at our open afternoon on Wednesday. We hope you enjoyed seeing your children’s work.
TASK: Who can write about their favourite Christmas traditions and what Christmas means to them?
