During the past few weeks we have been using an atlas to find out about the oceans and continents of the world. This week we have been doing lots of map work using Ordanance Survey maps. We looked at a range of OS symbols and used the key on the OS maps to find out what the symbols meant. The children had good fun looking at real, full size maps, spotting the symbols with great excitement and identifying them.
Homework task: If you have any OS maps at home your child will be happy to share their new knowledge of map symbols with you.
Christmas Cake Reminder!!
Next week we will be making Christmas cakes on Monday morning. If you have not brought in an apron, money or most importantly the right size tin, then it might not happen on Monday.
( A small baked bean tin is ideal. Not a tuna or sweetcorn tin as the structure of the tin is unsuitable )
