Well, the Youlbury adventure has started and Class 5, after a warm welcome from the Youlbury Staff and a brief unpacking session, were whisked off to their first activities of the day. The children were split into 3 groups and headed off to try Climbing, Archery and Crate Stacking.
Reuben, Sam and Jonathan enjoyed practicing their teamwork skills in Crate Stacking. The aim of Crate Stacking was to reach the highest point that two people could reach using all of the crates that were available. They also had to trust their other group members to keep the ropes that they were attached to, taut to support their weight if the crates were to fall.
In the evening after dinner we all headed out to play a wide game in the woods called Jail Break. The children worked in teams, one side were the cops and the other were the robbers, to catch the robbers and imprison them in the straw circle. There were some fantastic hiding places in the woods that made it challenging for the cops team to win.
Shortly after that we headed back to the lodge for hot chocolate and bed. Night everyone!
