Week 6 (9/7/18)

In our topic sessions this week we have been writing about our time in Class 2. We thought about the things we have enjoyed doing, our successes and challenges and what we are looking forward to in Class 3. We have also been looking back at our very first pieces of writing in year 2 and thinking about how much we have improved. We also considered what we will try and do in Year 3 to make our writing even better.

In maths we have been doing different investigations. We are trying hard to work in a logical and systematic way to find all possible solutions. We had a fun investigation about a witch’s recipe. Firstly we had to work together to work out which ingredients the witch needed to use to include 10 legs in her special potion. We could choose from Lizards, spiders and bats. We had to find as many different ways as possible of making 10 legs. Then we worked independently to find ways of including 20 legs.

In Science we found out about the importance for humans of exercise, eating the right amounts of different types of food, and hygiene.

We also enjoyed a visit to Class 3 on Thursday. We had lots of fun and are really looking forward to the new opportunities and challenges that KS2 will present.

Have a lovely weekend,
