This week in English we have been reading the part of Stig of the Dump where Lou and Barney go to the fancy dress party at Mrs Fawkham-Greene’s house. We have been busy planning and writing a letter as Barney home to his Mum and Dad. In the letter, we thought carefully about what Barney would want to say as well as remembering our grammar and writing targets.
In Maths, we started the week looking at solving subtraction money problems using a number line e.g. a book costs £6.37, how much change would I get from £10. We then moved on to learning about inverse operations and how these can be used to check addition and subtraction calculations.
In Geography, we thought about European mountain ranges. We located the mountains on a map and then researched the highest peaks.
We have continued to learn how to play the recorder and we are increasing our knowledge of reading music. We are now playing the notes b, a, g and e.
On Thursday afternoon we had a science workshop which we all really enjoyed!
Please make sure that you have booked a parent-teacher consultation appointment for next week.
