Week 6 (21/5/18)

Maths

We looked at each other’s stick men angle drawings and tried to find any mistakes. We wrote an explanation why they made the mistake. Then we measured and corrected are own stick men with a measuring object called a protractor.

We have also been doing symmetry, and playing a symmetry game to match half shapes on a horizontal line on the table, and then Mr Morton got 2 people to mirror each other’s movements.

English

We have begun to put our fables onto the laptops so we can make up a book and read them to the year 1 & 2.

Grammar

In Grammar this week we have been making Grammar booklets for next year’s class five so they will understand it more.

Topic (Explorer Dome)

In topic we did a science dome in the dome we learnt about forces and how if we didn’t have forces we wouldn’t be able to walk and we would just slide into everything. We looked at the stars and how they were all suns but as they are so far away we can’t see them. We looked at many different forces. We also made tiny rockets with dry ice and watched them burst up – they shot up 4m into the air!

French

In French we have been learning abought places in the town as well as the alphabet and we have learnt songs about town.

PE/ ART

In Art we have been doing, first we did a water colour wash, then will they were drying we practised some patterns. After they dried we got a picture of an animal, and we could either trace or copy the picture with black or blue pen we drew round the animal. We drew all- prate patterns inside the picture.

Anything else!

At the Crowmarsh fete on 20/05/2018, there were multiple events, like the craft tent. There was also a fun run for oxford shire children’s hospital (Thames Run). In total, there was an astonishing amount of £s raised. Other events included: tug of war, the coconut shy, the penalty shoot-out and the archery stand.   In the festival we did maypole dancing.  To end the festival, an amazing performance by the brilliant Crowmarsh choir. We will be having our Greek day on 13th of June – we need to dress up!

Resilience Wellbeing Success                

In r.w.s we have been practising is talk’s abought resilience, wellbeing or success. We will be performing are on Tuesday 13th June 2.15pm
