Week 6 (05/12/2016)

Monday morning was perfect for our winter walk. It was a crisp and cold but bright and sunny morning for us to enjoy our walk to Crowmarsh rec. We looked carefully at the trees, the ground and all around to see how things had changed since our last visit. We have read the story, Stick Man and so collected sticks to make our own Stick Men.

On Tuesday we enjoyed a busy morning as we grated lemons, chopped cherries, cracked eggs and mixed fruit to make our mini Christmas cakes. The cakes are baked but not iced as yet. Here we are in the process of baking them:

We identified the countries where the ingredients came from and found the countries on the world map. It was quite a surprise to many children to find out that their food comes from so many countries and not just the supermarket! It’s good to know where your food comes from.

On Wednesday everyone concentrated hard to listen and follow instructions throughout the day. Year one worked in mixed groups with year two during the day to learn their scenes. With only one run-through everyone embraced the final performance in the evening with excitement.

In maths we have been learning about one more, one less. This is something to talk about at home so that your child can consolidate their learning.
